About the Lexus IS
The first generation of the Lexus IS was called the Lexus IS 200. This was available as either a sedan or a wagon. It was built on a chassis of a midsize car, was powered with 2.0-liter 1G-FE inline-six and included a six-speed manual transmission. It can run at 216 km/hr, and can go to 100 km per hour from a stationary state in less than 10 seconds. The rear lights of this model became a staple amongst different car models that included not just the Lexus brand.
The Lexus IS 300 was introduced as a hatchback or station wagon with a 3.0 L 6-cylinder engine. A pop-up navigation screen, chrome metal ball shifter, and an instrument panel in a chronograph style were the ones that characterized this generation of Lexus. High intensity discharge headlights, leather seats, and auto-dimming features for the side view and rearview mirrors were some of the hallmarks. It scored five stars and four stars from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, for the side driver and side rear passenger categories, and the frontal passenger and frontal driver categories, respectively.
Second generation Lexus IS cars had a lot of different variations. A direct injection system was incorporated in the Lexus IS 250, Lexus IS 350, and Lexus IS F. Airbags and stability control systems were also put in place, which increased the safety of the car. The L-finesse design philosophy was introduced here, meaning Intriguing Elegance, Incisive Simplicity, and Seamless Anticipation in the Japanese characters that it stood for. The Lexus GS was the pioneer of this new idea, and the Lexus IS quickly followed suit. This time, the car looked sleeker, and embodied a more Japanese sentiment in its design. The Lexus IS did pretty well in terms of sales, and ranked after the Lexus RX and Lexus ES in terms of salability.
Touch screen navigation was already available for this model, apart from SmartAccess keyless entry, a pushbutton start, and Dynamic Radar Cruise control. You have the option of putting in a back-up camera so that it is more convenient to parallel park anywhere. Apart from that, you can either have a Birds Eye Maple Wood Trim or a metallic one, leather seats, and LED interior lighting accents for your dashboard and panel.
The Lexus IS 250 C became a hit in the US and Europe, as this was a convertible. A Lexus IS 350 C was also popular with a more powerful engine and more developed features.
Because the F sport models were pretty well developed in this car, it was actually used as a racecar by a lot of teams in Asia, Europe, Canada, and many other countries. It is one of the best drives you can take with you on a highway; it is easy to drive and has the power to perform up to your standards. It is also very fuel efficient, with a line of models that have diesel tanks for added economy. The Lexus IS models are definitely one of the best choices for a compact executive car that you can find in the market today.
